Closing the window keeps the app running – how to quit

The close button minimizes the app so migrations and schedules continue. Quit from the taskbar or the icon near the clock.

Closing vs. quitting

Clicking X minimizes SharePoint Migrator (and O365 Migration) to the taskbar. Running and scheduled migrations carry on.

To quit:

• right-click the app's taskbar button → Quit SharePoint Migrator (or Quit O365 Migration), or
• right-click the app's icon near the clock (notification area) → Quit.

If a migration is running, the app asks first: Keep running or Quit anyway.

If the app was closed during a migration

A task that was running when the app was quit (or ended in Task Manager, or Windows restarted) is marked Interrupted: the application was closed while this task was running. Open Tasks, select it and click Run again – with Copy if newer only what is missing is copied.
