Error: "Sign-in required for … Sign in to the connection again"
The Microsoft sign-in of a connection (MFA) expired or was revoked. Sign in again and run the task again – copied items are skipped.
What it means
Connections that sign in with your Microsoft account (MFA) keep a session, like a browser. The app renews it by itself while it works. This error appears when it can't: the session was revoked, your password changed, a Conditional Access policy asks you to sign in again, or the computer was offline for a long time.
During a running task the app pauses and asks you to sign in again (the Tasks list shows Paused – the sign-in to … expired). If you don't, the task stops with this error.
How to fix it
- Open Connections, select the connection and click Test. Sign in when the Microsoft window opens.
- Open Tasks, select the task and click Run again. With Copy if newer (incremental) only what is missing is copied.
If it keeps happening
- Your organization may limit how long a sign-in lasts (Conditional Access sign-in frequency). Ask your administrator, or run long migrations with an App ID connection, which never expires.
- Make sure the account in the sign-in window is the one you expect – a cached account from another tenant is a common cause.
